عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رضي الله عنهما قَالَ : أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : ( يَا مَعْشَرَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ ؛ خَمْسٌ إِذَا ابْتُلِيتُمْ بِهِنَّ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ أَنْ تُدْرِكُوهُنَّ :
1- لَمْ تَظْهَرْ الْفَاحِشَةُ فِي قَوْمٍ قَطُّ حَتَّى يُعْلِنُوا بِهَا ، إِلَّا فَشَا فِيهِمْ الطَّاعُونُ وَالْأَوْجَاعُ الَّتِي لَمْ تَكُنْ مَضَتْ فِي أَسْلَافِهِمْ الَّذِينَ مَضَوْا !!
2- وَلَمْ يَنْقُصُوا الْمِكْيَالَ وَالْمِيزَانَ إِلَّا أُخِذُوا بِالسِّنِينَ وَشِدَّةِ الْمَئُونَةِ وَجَوْرِ السُّلْطَانِ عَلَيْهِمْ .
3- وَلَمْ يَمْنَعُوا زَكَاةَ أَمْوَالِهِمْ إِلَّا مُنِعُوا الْقَطْرَ مِنْ السَّمَاءِ ، وَلَوْلَا الْبَهَائِمُ لَمْ يُمْطَرُوا .
4- وَلَمْ يَنْقُضُوا عَهْدَ اللَّهِ وَعَهْدَ رَسُولِهِ ، إِلَّا سَلَّطَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ عَدُوًّا مِنْ غَيْرِهِمْ ، فَأَخَذُوا بَعْضَ مَا فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ .
5- وَمَا لَمْ تَحْكُمْ أَئِمَّتُهُمْ بِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ ، وَيَتَخَيَّرُوا مِمَّا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ بَأْسَهُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ !! )
رواه ابن ماجة (4019) وحسنه الألباني.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'O, Muhajirin! (immigrants to Medina) there are five calamities, that if you are tried with them, and I seek Allah's Refuge lest they should befall you. These calamities are:
1- When obscenity and sin spread among people, Allah will punish them through plague and unknown of diseases that never appeared in the time of their forefathers who passed away.
2- When people should begin to cheat in weighing out goods, you should realize that this has never happened without drought and famine befalling the people, and their rulers oppressing them.
3- When they refuse to pay Zakah, they will be denied water from the sky and they will have rain only for the sake of their animals.
4- When they break the Covenant of Allah and His Prophet, Allah will give power to their enemies over them and let them take some of their property and fortune.
5- When their rulers do not adhere to Allah's Book and attempt to preach and choose of His Laws, Allah will make their rivalries great among themselves.
